A straightforward annual process
Trust resolutions & tax planning
Before 30 June, we prepare trust distribution resolutions (where applicable) and review tax planning opportunities for the year ahead.
Send us your statements
Share registries, managed fund and ETF statements, trading and mining records, trust records — whatever you have.
We reconcile & prepare
We reconcile everything, prepare your trust or investment accounts, and complete the tax return.
Outcome & ongoing support
We talk through the result with you and stay available for questions and planning throughout the year — not just at tax time.
Running a trust brings its own paperwork
Trusts have accounting and compliance requirements separate from your personal tax return — financial statements, a trust tax return, and resolutions that need to be made and signed before 30 June.
Get the timing wrong and the consequences can be significant — an undistributed trust often means the trustee is taxed at the top marginal rate on that income. We help make sure resolutions are prepared correctly and on time, every year.
Wherever you're up to
New to investing?
If you've just opened a brokerage account, started buying managed funds, or done some crypto trading, we can help you understand what needs to be tracked from day one.
Setting up a family trust?
We can help set up the accounting for a new trust, including the ongoing distribution process.
You do not need to have decided on a structure before contacting us.
Behind on your records?
If a few years of statements or investment records have piled up, start with what you have. We can identify what's missing and bring things up to date.
Investment & trust questions
Do you help with tax planning before the end of the financial year?
Yes — it's the first step in our process. Before 30 June, we prepare trust distribution resolutions where applicable and review tax planning opportunities, so nothing is rushed or left to chance at the last minute.
When do trust distribution resolutions need to be signed?
Generally before 30 June each year, and the resolution needs to reflect what's actually paid or credited. Missing the deadline can mean the trustee is taxed at the top marginal rate on the undistributed income.
What records do I need for my share portfolio?
Contract notes or statements for each purchase and sale, dividend statements, and details of any corporate actions such as splits, buybacks or dividend reinvestment plans. We can also work from your broker or platform's annual tax statement where one is available.
Do you provide support throughout the year, or just at tax time?
Both. Alongside the annual accounting and tax work, we're available for questions and planning support throughout the year — not just once a year at lodgement.
Do I need to include crypto trading or mining in my tax return?
Yes — even straightforward crypto trading and mining activity needs to be reported. We can work out what counts as income versus a capital gain and fold it into your existing return without much extra hassle.
